Exciting news on China’s space exploration: China will launch its Shenzhou-12 spacecraft, carrying astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo at 9:22 a.m. on Thursday, the China Manned Space Engineering Office announced on Wednesday.

据中国载人航天工程办公室消息，经空间站阶段飞行任务总指挥部研究决定，聂海胜、刘伯明、汤洪波3名航天员将执行神舟十二号载人飞行任务，由聂海胜担任指令长。神舟十二号载人飞船将在北京时间6月17日9时22分发射升空。

China on Wednesday denied a CNN report that there's a leak at the Taishan nuclear power station in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. The country's Ministry of Ecology and Environment said in a statement that radiation monitoring results showed the radiation level around the nuclear plant remains normal. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian on Tuesday also guaranteed the plant’s safety. The current situation of the power plant meets the requirements for the technical specifications, he said, adding that China's nuclear power plants have maintained a good operational record so far, with no incidents affecting the environment or public health.

生态环境部（国家核安全局）相关负责人，就近日CNN报道称广州台山核电厂发生放射性泄漏事故作出回应时表示，目前，台山核电厂周边辐射环境监测结果显示核电厂周边辐射环境水平未见异常，处于本底水平，也表明没有任何泄漏发生。周二外交部发言人赵立坚在例行记者会上表示，中国高度重视核安全，建立了接轨国际、符合国情的核安全监管体系。同时，国家核安全局与相关核能国家核安全监管机构密切合作，并在国际原子能机构、《核安全公约》等多边机制下开展沟通交流。迄今为止，中国核电站保持着良好的运行记录，未发生影响环境和公众健康的事件。

Chinese online payment clearinghouse NetsUnion Clearing Corporation (NUCC) reported surging daily transactions during the just-concluded Dragon Boat Festival holiday. During the three-day holiday, transactions processed by the platform neared 5.37 billion. A total of 2.96 trillion yuan (about 461.99 billion U.S. dollars) were involved. The average daily number of transactions rose 28 percent year on year while the value marked a 51-percent rise. 

6月15日，网联平台公布数据显示，2021年端午节三天假期，跨机构网络支付交易数据再创新高，假日经济持续回暖。2021年端午节放假期间（6月12日至6月14日），网联平台共处理资金类跨机构网络支付交易53.65亿笔，金额2.96万亿元，日均交易笔数、交易金额较2020年同期分别增长28%和51%，较疫情前的2019年同期分别增长92%和89%。

The Chinese Mainland on Tuesday reported 0 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases. 21 imported cases were also reported. 

国家卫健委数据显示，6月15日0-24时，31个省（自治区、直辖市）和新疆生产建设兵团报告新增本土确诊病例0例，境外输入病例21例。

On April 6, the State Council Information Office released a white paper titled "Poverty Alleviation: China's Experience and Contribution”. The white paper showed that at the end of 2020, China achieved the goal of eliminating extreme poverty. The 98.99 million people in rural areas who were living below the current poverty threshold all shook off poverty; all the 128,000 impoverished villages and 832 designated poor counties got rid of poverty. 

国务院新闻办公室4月6日发布的《人类减贫的中国实践》白皮书显示，到2020年底，中国实现了现行标准下9899万农村贫困人口全部脱贫，832个贫困县全部摘帽，12.8万个贫困村全部出列，14个集中连片特困地区区域性贫困问题得到解决。

China's courier sector collected 874 million parcels during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday which ended Monday, up 109.52 percent from the pre-epidemic level in 2019. The figure shows a rise of 44.29 percent from the same holiday in 2020, the State Post Bureau said Tuesday. 

据中国国家邮政局15日发布数据，6月12日至14日，全国邮政快递业揽收快递包裹8.74亿件，同比2020年端午节期间增长44.29%，与2019年端午节相比增长109.52%

Switching gears to the financial sector.

金融市场要闻： 

China's first batch of nine public infrastructure real estate investment trusts (REITs) will start trading on June 21. Five REITs will be traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, while four others on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. 

6月15日，沪深交易所首批9只基础设施公募REITs发布上市交易公告书，相关公募REITs产品将于6月21日正式上市。其中5只将在上海交易所上市，其余4只在深圳交易所上市。

China's central bank is raising the foreign exchange reserve requirement for banks to 7% from 5%, effective Tuesday. It is the first such hike in 14 years since the previous change in May 2007 — before the financial crisis. It is estimated the move will reduce the amount of foreign currency available for long-term trading by $20 billion, helping stabilize the exchange rate of the Chinese yuan. 

央行将存款准备金率从5%上调至7%，周二起生效。这是自2007年5月金融危机前的上一次加息以来的14年里首次加息。据估计，此举将使可用于长期交易的外汇减少200亿美元，有助于稳定人民币汇率。

Wufangzhai, a time-honored glutinous rice dumpling brand, is planning to raise 1.06 billion yuan ($166 million) from an initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange later this year, the company said in a regulatory filing. 

老字号粽子品牌五芳斋在端午前递交招股书，冲击IPO，有望成为“粽子第一股”。招股书显示，该公司计划于今年晚些时候在上海证券交易所通过IPO筹集10.6亿元人民币（约1.66亿美元）。

Chinese stocks closed lower Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 1.07 percent, at 3518.33 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.57% percent lower at 14295.93 points. Shares related to Huawei’s HarmonyOS went strong again and led the gains, together with oil and gas and semiconductors.

周三股市平开后下挫，沪指收报3518.33点，跌幅1.07%;深成指报14295.93点，跌幅2.57%。受国际油价持续上涨影响，油气股逆势走强。题材概念上，鸿蒙概念午后拉升领涨，半导体概念涨幅居前。
