The long-awaited Cross-border Wealth Management Connect and Bond Connect, which allow individuals in the Greater Bay Area to make cross-border investments within a closed-loop capital conduit managed by banks in the area, have officially announced their launching today.

The Cross-Boundary Wealth Management Connect will bring tremendous opportunities to Hong Kong’s thriving wealth management business, and will consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre, Chief Executive of HKSAR Carrie Lam said. Macao’s chief Ho Iat Seng said the investment connects will help Macao build its modern financial industry and promote the RMB to become an important currency for overseas investment.

Yesterday, Pan Gongsheng, deputy head of the People’s Bank of China told a press conference that the central bank will increase financial support for construction of the cooperation zones. Hengqin and Qianhai will test free trade accounts, cross-border transfer of credit assets, foreign debt facilitation, cross-border capital pools and cross-border investment policies for private equity funds.

今天下午4点，粤港澳大湾区“跨境理财通”启动仪式在广州举行。

香港特区行政长官林郑月娥表示，跨境理财通的启动将为香港今年积极发展的财富管理业务带来巨大的机遇，并巩固和提升香港国际金融中心的地位。

澳门特区行政长官贺一诚说，跨境理财通允许澳门居民投资内地的人民币理财产品和满足澳门居民投资的需求，推动人民币在境外逐步成为投资所需要的重要货币。

9日，中国人民银行副行长潘功胜在国新办发布会上表示，人民银行正在牵头香港和澳门金融管理部门制定金融支持两地改革开放的专门文件。人民银行将按照横琴的战略定位，设计横琴的开放型金融制度安排，促进横琴地区金融服务面向澳门金融机构更高水平开放。同时，依托前海加强深港金融合作，进一步发挥香港国际金融中心作用，聚焦资金要素跨境自由流动，推动实现更高水平的资本项目开放。

China has unveiled more details on its two new plans to tie Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao closer together. The State Council Information Office held a joint press conference on Thursday regarding the central government’s economic policies for Hengqin and Qianhai. 

They said the new plans mark the country's latest move to further deepen reforms and opening-up, providing ample opportunities for the long-term development of the Bay Area.

Cong Liang, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission, said the expansion of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone is conducive to promoting institutional innovation and industrial upgrading in Qianhai as well as piloting the reform policies.

He also revealed that the NDRC will work with local governments to formulate a catalog of industries that will be encouraged as well as a master development plan for Hengqin, to boost Macao's economic diversification.

As for financial policies, Vice-Minister of Finance Xu Hongcai said the central authorities will implement preferential tax policies for Hengqin. Specific policies have been employed for corporate income tax, individual income tax, import tax and tariff in the cooperation zone, said Xu. All industries conducive to the diversified economic development in Macao are eligible for the preferential corporate income tax rate of 15 percent.

近日，中共中央、国务院印发《横琴粤澳深度合作区建设总体方案》《全面深化前海深港现代服务业合作区改革开放方案》。国务院新闻办公室9日举行新闻发布会，解读方案重点，回应横琴、前海建设情况等热点问题。

国家发展改革委副主任、粤港澳大湾区建设领导小组办公室副主任丛亮表示，前海扩区有利于为深化前海改革开放提供更大发展空间，也有利于为香港创造更多机遇。他说，前海要依托香港、服务内地、面向世界，进一步促进粤港、深港合作，推动香港更好融入国家发展大局，打造改革开放新高地。

财政部副部长许宏才介绍了横琴合作区财税政策。他表示，横琴是促进粤澳合作、推动澳门经济适度多元发展的重要载体。财政部在横琴实施了特殊的税收优惠政策，并且在财力方面给予了积极支持，其中，在企业所得税方面，进一步完善政策措施。他表示，将有利于澳门经济适度多元发展的产业全部纳入企业所得税15%优惠税率的政策范围。

The National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration Thursday announced it would release crude oil from its national reserves to alleviate stress on businesses over rising raw material costs. This measure will be implemented in batches, mainly targets domestic enterprises that practice refining-petrochemical integration. 

中国国家粮食和物资储备局周四表示将以轮换方式分期分批组织投放国家储备原油。本次投放主要面向国内炼化一体化企业，用于缓解生产型企业的原材料价格上涨压力。

Shares of Chinese media companies Zqgame and Jinke Tom Culture Industry continued to surge 9.7 percent and 3.92 percent today after they sought to tap into the trend of “metaverse” games, despite the Shenzhen Stock Exchange’s inquiry to Jinke. Experts expressed concern that the concept of “metaverse" might be overhyped and suggested people should not invest blindly.   

今天，游戏概念股中青宝、汤姆猫，在贴上“元宇宙”标签后继续大涨9.7%和3.92%。汤姆猫已于8日收到深交所问询函，被要求说明公司是否存在利用互动易回复蹭热点、炒概念，配合股东减持的情形。业内分析人士指出，元宇宙对于全市场还是一个相对模糊的概念，要警惕个股蹭热点概念炒作。

Real estate developer Soho China announced today that US private equity giant Blackstone Group has terminated its offer to buy the company due to “insufficient progress in meeting the conditions precedent to the tender offer.” China’s antitrust regulator started reviews of Blackstone’s acquisition last month. 

10日，SOHO中国公告称，鉴于目前满足收购要约的先决条件进展不足，各方一致认为无法在要约最后截止日当天或之前满足先决条件，经各方一致同意，黑石集团终止对公司收购要约。

Lianjia, one of China’s biggest real estate agencies, is reported to close a fifth of its offices in Shenzhen, which became the nation’s first to attempt to cap the prices of such properties. In August, pre-owned home transactions in the city were down more than two-thirds from a year earlier.  

中国最大的房地产机构之一链家据报道计划关闭其在深圳的五分之一办事处。深圳市房地产中介协会 (SREIA) 的数据显示，8月份，该市的二手房交易比去年同期下降了三分之二以上。

Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.27 percent higher at 3703 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.5 percent up at 14771 points. The Hang Seng Index closed 1.91 percent higher at 26205 points.

周五A股股市集体收涨，截至收盘，沪指涨0.27%，报收3703点；深成指涨0.5%，报收14771点。港股恒生指数收涨1.91%，报收26205点。
