Today is the first day of the fourth China International Import Expo (CIIE), scheduled from Nov. 5 to 10 in Shanghai. A large number of new products, technologies and services will make their global or national debuts in the six exhibition areas totaling 360,000 square meters.

This year, In response to the nation's goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, the low-carbon energy and environmental technology subsection will be unveiled to audiences.

Fifty industry leaders are showcasing their latest technological breakthroughs and innovations at the subsection, which provides a platform for Chinese energy and environmental protection companies to communicate with international peers and thus aid China's low-carbon transformation and upgrading of energy consumption.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday opened the CIIE, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to batter the world economy, with a keynote speech that underlined China’s commitment to further opening up its market and helping to boost global cooperation.

Xi pledged that China will firmly safeguard true multilateralism, share market opportunities with the rest of the world, promote high-standard opening-up and uphold the common interests of the world. 

About 200 US companies are attending the CIIE, hitting a new high, according to the CIIE bureau. However, media reports that no Indian company is listed as participant.

今年是“碳中和”元年，“绿色”“低碳”也是本届进博会的关键词。今年，技术装备展区新设立了能源低碳及环保技术专区，参展商覆盖传统能源、新能源、新材料、电力电工、水处理、大气治理及综合治理等全球知名企业。

11月4日晚，国家主席习近平以视频方式出席第四届中国国际进口博览会开幕式并发表题为《让开放的春风温暖世界》的主旨演讲。他表示，当前，经济全球化遭遇逆流。我们要把握经济全球化发展大势，支持世界各国扩大开放，反对单边主义、保护主义，推动人类走向更加美好的未来。

习近平表示，中国将坚定不移维护真正的多边主义，坚定不移同世界共享市场机遇，坚定不移推动高水平开放，坚定不移维护世界共同利益。

美国企业参展第四届中国国际进口博览会的数量再创新高，多达200家左右。而媒体报道，本年度进博会的参展商名单上，没有印度企业。

The Chinese mainland reported 68 new local cases yesterday, including 28 from Heilongjiang, 10 from Hebei and 8 from Liaoning.

全国昨日新增68例本土确诊病例（黑龙江28例，河北10例，辽宁8例，河南5例，甘肃5例，宁夏4例，内蒙古2例，江西2例，四川2例，贵州1例，云南1例）。

The recent increase in the price of vegetables in China has reached its peak, with prices of leafy greens in particular seeing an obvious decline in many areas of the country, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said on Thursday. The average wholesale price of 28 kinds of vegetables in October monitored by the ministry increased 16.7 percent from September and 11.7 percent year-on-year. 

11月4日，农业农村部召开新闻发布会。农业农村部市场与信息化司司长唐珂表示，近期，全国蔬菜价格普遍上涨，农业农村部监测的28种蔬菜10月批发均价为每公斤5.25元，环比涨16.7%，同比涨11.7%。他强调，全年及当前包括往后“两节”期间，全国蔬菜生产总体是正常的，供应总量充足，消费者不用担心。

China's state-owned oil giant Sinopec Corp signed a contract on Thursday with the US' Venture Global LNG to buy 4 million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually for 20 years, the largest long-term LNG deal ever signed between China and the US. In addition, Unipec, the trading arm of Sinopec, purchased a total of 3.8 million tons of LNG resources from the Venture Global’s project.

2021年11月4日，中国石油化工股份有限公司和美国维吉液化天然气公司（Venture Global LNG）共同签署了为期20年、400万吨/年的液化天然气（LNG）长期购销协议。此外，中国石化联合石化还将从维吉公司Calcasieu Pass项目购买总计380万吨LNG资源。

China Mobile Ltd. won approval to sell shares on the Shanghai bourse, becoming the third state-controlled mobile phone giant to be cleared for listing on China’s A-shares market after being kicked off U.S. exchanges. The operator aims to raise 56 billion yuan, topping rival China Telecom Corp. Ltd.’s 54.4 billion yuan fundraising in August. 

证监会公告显示，中国移动首发上市申请获证监会发审委审核通过。此前，中国移动于8月18日公布了A股IPO招股书，拟于沪市主板上市，计划公开发行A股股份数量不超过9.65亿股，拟募集资金560亿元。

Hong Kong listed shares of Chinese real estate developer Kaisa Group Holdings were halted today, following news that it had missed a payment on a wealth management product earlier this week. The company said on Thursday that it faced “unprecedented pressure on its liquidity” due to unfavorable factors such as credit rating downgrades and a challenging property market environment. 

11月5日，佳兆业集团控股有限公司、佳兆业资本投资集团有限公司、佳兆业美好集团有限公司、佳兆业健康集团控股有限公司同时发布公告，均将于11月5日上午九时正起于港交所短暂停止买卖。此前，佳兆业宣布出现流动性问题，到期资金未能兑付。

China's Lenovo Group reported a 65 percent rise in second-quarter profit yesterday and said it was able to outgrow the market by securing more components despite a global chip shortage. Net profit for the quarter ended Sep. 30 jumped to $512 million, while revenue rose 23 percent to $17.9 billion.

11月4日，联想集团公布截至9月30日的2021/22财年第二财季业绩：营业额达1156亿人民币，同比增长23%；净利润33亿人民币，同比增长65%，净利润率持续实现增长。

Huawei Technologies has lost the founder of its autonomous driving team to Geely Holding Group's smart electric vehicle brand Zeekr. Chen Qi, former head of the Huawei's department of autonomous driving research and development, has joined Zeekr Intelligent Technology to take charge of its smart driving technology R&D. 

吉利汽车旗下高端智能电动品牌极氪汽车官方确认，华为自动驾驶团队创始人、自动驾驶研发部原部长陈奇已于近日加入极氪，任自动驾驶副总裁，负责极氪自动驾驶业务。

China stocks closed lower on Friday, dragged down by coal miners amid China’s intensive measures to rein in coal prices and boost production, while Metaverse concept stocks continued to take off. China’s benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 1.0 percent, while the Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.64 percent today. The Hong Kong Hang Seng Index fell 1.41 percent.

周五A股股市集体收涨，沪指跌1%，深成指跌0.64%。行业板块涨少跌多，元宇宙概念股大涨，煤炭、电力、钢铁板块大跌。港股恒生指数跌1.41%。
