Melissa Fleming, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications, said at the opening ceremony of the 5th World Media Summit, “such media-to-media cooperation is an integral part of people-to-people ties around the world. It is the glue that underpins how people of different nations can understand each other.”
She introduced the SDG Media Compact during the speech. “It is a community of media companies who are leveraging their resources for achieving the sustainable development.”
