2024 FOCAC | Cuban Journalist: Latin America Want To Learn From China-Africa Cooperation

The 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit is being held in Beijing from September 4th to 6th. Under the theme "Joining Hands to Advance Modernization and Build a High-Level China-Africa Community with a Shared Future," leaders from both China and Africa are coming together to strengthen their ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.

Isaura Diez, correspondent for the Latin American News Agency, shared her insights at the summit. She underscored Latin America's keen interest in exploring potential avenues for cooperation with China, viewing the event as a prime example of how China can work with other Global South nations.

Diez emphasized the significance of political, economic, and cultural exchanges, noting that her role as chief correspondent is to help Latin Americans better understand China's approach to cooperation, mutual benefits, and shared objectives. 

"I think the relationship between China and Africa can be a model, or at least an example. Latin American countries have their own challenges, which are quite different from those in Africa. But in general, we are all from the Global South and are developing countries. In this way, we can find common goals to cooperate on," said Diez.
