The legacy of fuel cars and the innovation of electric vehicles are intertwined, propelling China’s auto industry to new heights.

In July 1956, the first domestically produced Jiefang truck rolled off the assembly line, closing the chapter on China’s history of being unable to manufacture cars. In August 1958, the first Hongqi luxury sedan was successfully trial-produced.

Over the past 75 years, China’s auto industry has undergone a remarkable transformation, shifting from "bringing in" to "going global".

Today, traditional brands and new forces are advancing side by side, driving the rise of China’s auto industry. As the world’s largest auto market, China surpassed Japan in 2023 to become the top car exporter. In the same year, over 60% of global EV production and sales came from China, securing the top spot for nine consecutive years.

What major changes have transformed the industry? Let’s explore at the 2024 World Manufacturing Convention.
