Guangdong officially approved the upgrading of Guangzhou Huadu Economic Development Zone to a national-level one, a press conference held by the Guangdong Provincial Information Office annouced on Tuesday.
Guangzhou now has four national-level economic development zones, accounting for half of the provincial total.
Wu Weihua, Party Member and Deputy Director of Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce received the interview from 21st Century Business Herald. He said that government will continue to effectively implement the “five foreign links”, by promoting the development of foreign trade, attracting high-quality foreign investment and outsourcing services, expanding international economic cooperation, and introducing urgently needed talents.
“We will provide more development opportunities and innovative momentum for Guangzhou Huadu Economic and Technological Development Zone to drive its high-quality development and spearhead reform and opening-up,”Wu added.
After the press conference, a major project signing ceremony for the Huadu Economic and Technological Development Zone was also held.
