2024 Understanding China Conference丨Huang Ping: High-quality growth is the core of Chinese economy

The 2024 Understanding China International Conference was held in Guangzhou. While attending the conference, Huang Ping, the executive President of the Chinese Institute of Hong Kong, said that the Greater Bay Area represents a reinvention built upon innovation. The combination of Hong Kong, Macao, and Guangdong has the potential to surpass other bay areas like Tokyo Bay and New York Bay.

He also emphasized that China must focus on high-quality growth. "Growth in high speed undoubtedly brought us unprecedented development, but it may also lead to high energy consumption and high pollution," he said.
