Finland has been topping the list of the happiest countries in the world for many years. What is the secret of happiness?

Esko Aho, Former Prime Minister of Finland, unveils the secret of happiness in a Dialogue with SFC recently.

Firstly, Aho believe that level of trust in Finland is still very high. Finnish society is based on trust in institutions and trust to fellow citizens. That is fundamental in the Finnish society.

Secondly, environmental sector is important. Aho thinks Finland has had a lot of progress, so Finns have a country which is clean, safe and good for children.

Looking into the future, Finns have economic challenges and adjustment challenges. But in spite of all these challenges, Aho thinks Finns feel quite comfortable that they can survive and succeed.
