By Sharon Hu, SFC, 21st Century Business Herald
Many places in China have become brighter, more magnificent, and more vibrant, which demonstrates China's rapid economic development and tremedous efforts in building a greener environment, said H. E. Scott Dewar, the Australian Ambassador to China on Wednesday.
“There is a 20-year interval between his two work stints in Beijing. And Beijing has undergone tremendous changes—it has become greener and the environment has become quieter, and similar changes have also taken place in many other cities in China. ” He stated that these changes demonstrates China's rapid economic development and the fact that its cities have become brighter, more magnificent, and more vibrant.
Dewar worked at the Australian Embassy in China from 2003 to 2007. After a gap of 20 years, he retured to Beijing as the Australian Ambassador to China. Dewar made a visit to Guangzhou earlier this week.
It is important for Australia to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Guangzhou in fields such as economic and trade investment, green development, and medical technology, so as to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results and bring benefits to the people of both sides, Dewar told SFC during his visit in Guangzhou.
As China is steadily advancing high-quality economic development, Dewar believes that Australia-China cooperation can focus on three areas: first, transforming traditional cooperation into cooperation in new industrial fields; second, medical technology; and third, tourism.
