This March and April, the 2026 Guangdong City Basketball League and the Guangdong City Football Super League will tip off and kick off across all 21 cities in the province. From the east to the west, each city fields its own team and hosts games on its home turf—a total of 125 basketball games and 123 football matches will unfold. The leagues will bring together local talents from all walks of life. Players ranging from 16 to 45 years old—teenagers, athletes in their prime, and seasoned veterans—will all battle it out on the same court and pitch for the pride of their hometowns.
The impact of the games goes way beyond the stadiums. Specially curated "Follow the Games, Tour Guangdong" routes connect game venues with the province's 16 5A-level scenic spots and 220 4A-level attractions. A single game ticket unlocks exclusive perks—discounted access to scenic spots and hotels, plus dining vouchers. Meanwhile, the "Guangdong Goods Global Reach" campaign brings the province's finest products to fans, with nearly 100 specially selected local gifts and a lineup of premium exports on display. Thirty-four "Happy Shopping Towns" offer everything from electronics to new energy vehicles. Every game is poised to supercharge local businesses and cultural tourism like never before.
The stage is all set, and the countdown to the opening whistle has already begun. Whether you're cheering from the stands or watching from halfway across the world, this is going to be a season for all of us to remember.
