As recent geopolitical tensions roiled global capital markets, many investors are looking for alternatives for growth, and Chinese assets are drawing increasing attention from investors seeking greater certainty.

David Day, Managing Director of Asia-Pacific at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), stated in a recent exclusive interview with SFC that investors are prioritizing resilience and diversification. Short-term market volatility will not alter the long-term fundamentals, and capital will eventually flow into sectors with intrinsic value. China's market holds distinct advantages in sectors like new energy, technology and artificial intelligence, and harbors tremendous investment opportunities.

David Day noted that China is an important part of LSEG’s long-term strategy. The Group’s primary purpose of driving financial stability and empowering economies cannot be achieved without the Chinese market. Going forward, leveraging its strong risk intelligence franchise and global business footprint, LSEG will provide comprehensive support for Chinese clients around the world.

When talking about artificial intelligence, David Day pointed out that AI is “game changing” and “going to be pretty fundamental to capital markets and financial services”, bringing significant impacts.
