微软又裁员，或影响数千个岗位

微软又要裁员了。

据外媒报道，微软计划近期宣布新一轮裁员，预计将影响数千个岗位。

事实上，微软近年来已经多次裁员。去年5月，微软裁掉了大约6000个职位；到了7月，又裁减了大约9000名员工。

为什么会这样？核心原因还是AI带来的压力。

一方面，AI发展太快，正在改变软件行业的商业逻辑。华尔街越来越担心，未来一部分传统软件功能可能会被AI取代。对微软来说，这意味着部分业务的盈利能力可能弱化。过去一个月，微软股价下跌约17%，也反映出市场对这一问题的担忧。

另一方面，微软又不能停下对AI的投入。现在全球科技公司都在烧钱拼AI。微软如果减少投入，就可能在竞争中掉队；但如果继续加大投入，资本开支压力又会越来越大。

所以，微软现在的处境很有代表性：AI既是它必须抓住的机会，也是它不得不承受的压力。裁员背后，不只是单纯节省成本，更体现出微软在AI时代重新调整资源配置和业务结构的现实压力。

科思创计划在华投资新建世界级MDI装置

Covestro Plans to Invest in New World-Scale MDI Train in China

6月30日，全球性聚合物及其组分生产商科思创宣布一项二苯基甲烷二异氰酸酯（MDI）战略投资计划。该计划包括在科思创上海一体化基地筹备新建一套年产能66万吨的MDI生产装置，目标于2030年前后建成投产。

On June 30, Covestro, the global polymer materials and their components manufacturer announced a strategic MDI investment program. The program includes preparations for a new MDI production train with 660 kilotonnes annual capacity at the Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai in China, with start-up targeted for the end of the decade.

据悉，除MDI主装置外，本次投资还涵盖上游工厂及配套基础设施，通过在厂区内生产关键中间体，构建一体化生产布局。

In addition to the main MDI unit, the investment includes upstream plants and supporting infrastructure to manufacture key intermediates on site, creating an integrated production setup.

同时，科思创正在就阿联酋新建同等规模装置开展可行性研究。

In addition, Covestro is conducting a feasibility study for a plant of similar scale in the United Arab Emirates.

有报道称，这是科思创被阿布扎比国家石油公司（ADNOC）旗下XRG收购后的首个重大产能布局动作，将对全球MDI产业格局构成深远影响。

According to reports, the move is the first major capacity layout move by Covestro after its acquisition by XRG, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company(ADNOC), and will have a profound impact on the global MDI industry landscape.

亚马逊云科技斥资10亿美元成立新人工智能部门

AWS Puts $1 Billion into New AI Unit

据外媒报道，当地时间6月30日，亚马逊云科技（Amazon Web Services）宣布，将投资10亿美元成立新的前沿部署工程部门（FDE），该部门将帮助客户构建并部署人工智能系统。

According to foreign media reports, on June 30th local time, Amazon Web Services announced that it is investing $1 billion in a new Forward Deployed Engineering(FDE) unit that will help its customers build and roll out artificial intelligence systems.

前置部署工程师是指直接入驻其他企业以推动技术变革加速的员工。

A forward deployed engineer, or an FDE, is an employee who is embedded directly within a different business to try and accelerate a technical transformation.

AWS称，艾伦研究所、美国职业篮球联赛（NBA）、理光公司等已开始与AWS前置部署工程师合作，拥有多样化数据集且受严格监管的行业企业将成为下一批采用者。

Organizations including the Allen Institute, the National Basketball Association, Ricoh are already working with AWS FDEs, according to the company, and companies in highly regulated industries with diverse datasets will be the next group of adopters.

据悉，亚马逊作为全球营收最高的云服务提供商，是首个宣布此类举措的超大规模企业。

Amazon, which is the top cloud provider by revenue, is the first hyperscaler to announce this kind of initiative.
